Description

Use Mortar Mix S to lay block and brick BELOW and/or ABOVE grade. This product has excellent board life and workability. Perfect for exterior use.

One 30kg (66lb) bag of Mortar Mix S lays 14 standard block or 31 Max Brick with a 1cm (3/8”) joint.

A 30kg bag will use approximately 4 litres of potable water.
  1. Empty the required amount of material into a mortar box, wheelbarrow or onto a smooth working surface.
  2. Form a crater and add potable water, a little at a time, and mix thoroughly.

Note: If the mixture is thick, then add more water, but avoid a runny mixture.
Remixing reduces performance. Mortar should have full coverage on all surfaces for long lasting results. 

For best results:
Do’s
  • Always use clean equipment, tools and potable water.
  • All surfaces should be clean and free of oil, gas, paint, grease, etc. before applying Mortar Mix.
  • A mechanical paddle-type mixer is recommended.
  • Use a measurable container so the exact amounts are used for each batch.
  • Mix for 6 to 8 minutes. Thoroughly dampen the brick, block or repair area before applying the new Mortar to prevent premature drying of the new material.
  • Keep the new Mortar damp for at lease 3 days by occasional fine spraying of water.
  • Exceeds ASTM C-270 for Type “S” Mortar when mixed and installed as directed.
Don’ts
  • Avoid working in extreme heat.
  • Use only when the temperature is 5°C (41°F) and rising. In cooler weather, use warm (not hot) water.

  • Some products are only sold in full bundles.

Additional charges may apply;

  • All stone material comes on a wooden pallet for transport and loading/unloading purposes. The amount of pallets required will depend on how much product is ordered.
  • Deliveries must include pallets, for pickup it is still recommended but not always required.
  • Pallets are charged at $40.00 and refundable at $35.00 upon return.
  • If pallets are removed from a delivery order, the order cannot be shipped and someone will contact you about shipping or pickup arrangements.

Color Variances;

  • All concrete products have a color variance between different dye lots.
  • Many concrete products come with a color range, which blends multiple colors together within the stone. Because of this some pieces may come out differently than others.
  • It is always best to come in and get a physical sample before making a large order.
